Mississippi State has fired first-year coach Zach Arnett, according to 247Sports Brandon Marcello. Just two days after the untimely passing of Coach Mike Leach, Bulldog officials have removed the interim tag from Coach Arnett. Arnett was born on September 10, 1986, and is an American football coach who is an analyst at the University of Mississippi Ole Miss.

According to 247Sports, Arnett's contract was the longest ever given to a coordinator at the school. He is set to receive another sizable pay bump with his new contract.
